Local Bank goes green for Mary Ann Evans Hospice

At the end of May, TSB Bedworth & their area team spent a very wet afternoon in the Mary Ann Evans Hospice Gardens, developing their relationship with their selected ‘Charity of the Year’. The team of 15 braved a miserable downpour with smiles, determination and some impressive gardening gear to clear the patch on the Hospice’s car park border. They planted several rose bushes to brighten the entrance to the site. Coventry Community Cheers on New Charity Shop!

Coventry’s Trinity Street was a buzz this weekend with the opening of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice charity shop. The people of Coventry were gathered outside, eager to find some hidden gems in the brand new shop at 10.00am on Saturday 4th March where Kay Alexander, Hospice Patron, was the guest of honour and opened the shop with a cut of a golden ribbon.  Customers then stormed the store looking for a bargain and were not disappointed. Commuters, students, businesses and train station staff share the love of their local Hospice

  Morning commuters at Nuneaton, Coleshill and Atherstone railway stations received a Valentine’s treat on Tuesday 14th February as they were gifted Love Heart sweets and information cards inviting them to share photos and spread the word about local hospice care, from the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. The campaign, aiming to raise awareness of the amazing work that hospices do in the local community, was part of ‘Love your Local Hospice’ week which ran from 13th – 19th February. Aviva Community Fund – Carers Cafe

Voting is now closed for the Aviva Community Fund. Thank you to all who voted! We will keep you updated on how we did and developments to the project as it happens. We will be setting up Carers Café in conjunction with Mary Ann Evans Hospice, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust, Guideposts Carer Support Service & Age UK. The Carer’s Café will aim to get carers talking and expressing what truly matters to them. We hope to welcome around 300 carers to the Carer’s Café in its first year and develop our services to increase the support we can provide to carers in the local community. Although the Carer’s Café will be held at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, all carers across the local area will be invited to attend. The wellbeing of the carer will be the main aim of the Carer’s Café.
