The Complementary Therapies offered at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice play an important role in the way we look after patients. Treatments can be really beneficial in providing support, aiding relaxation and giving a sense of comfort and wellbeing.

Complementary Therapies are treatments used alongside regular or orthodox medical care. They focus on the whole person, not just the symptoms of disease.

Complementary Therapies can help;

  • Promote relaxation making you feel soothed and comforted
  • Reduce feelings of worry and anxiety
  • Improve sleep patterns
  • Raise mood level by releasing the body’s natural endorphins
  • Help with physical problems, for example nausea, pain, itching.

Complementary treatments are only available to patients receiving our services.
