On the 30th August, 5 amazing cyclists will be setting off from London, on their quest to reach Amsterdam in just 4 days! They’ll cover an amazing 360 miles as they journey to Calais, then on to Belgium where they’ll try not to sample too many Belgian beers, and then on to the beautiful city of Amsterdam, where they can take a well-earned rest and reflect on the completion of their huge challenge.
Alan & Cameron Park, Glyn Pears and tandem riders Drs Jim & Cathryn Jacob are looking forward to the adventure, although recognise it will be a tough challenge. Jim, who took part in the London to Paris cycle in 2016 said “The hospice touches so many local families at a time when they are at a desperately low ebb and gives them comfort and solace. I’m fortunate enough to be fit and able to help raise funds and will keep supporting the hospice. I can’t think of a more worthwhile pursuit and personally it makes me feel good to do something for the community that has been so good to me.”
Fundraiser, Natalie Smith, said “On behalf of all our hospice patients, their families and their carers, we want to say a huge thank you and good luck to the brave team of 5 who are taking on this epic challenge to raise funds. Each of the cyclists has different reasons for taking part and while this will be an exciting journey for the team it will also be emotional and rewarding to complete such a huge challenge. We’re continually inspired by those who put themselves through something difficult for charity and would like to thank them for supporting the hospice.”
