Throughout June a selection of solicitors in North Warwickshire, are kindly donating their time and Will-writing expertise in return for a donation to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice.

If you have not yet made a Will to provide for your family in the future you may like to take the opportunity of Make a Will Month.  Throughout the month of June, local solicitors have teamed up with the Mary Ann Evans Hospice to offer a Will writing service.  The solicitors are all keen to communicate the message that writing a Will is the only way you can be sure that your money and property goes to the people you want it to.

If you do not make a Will, and have no next of kin, everything you own could go to the state; the law decides how your possessions will be divided. This may not be in the way you would have wished.  Some people think, quite mistakenly, that everything goes to their wife or husband if no Will is made.  In fact only a portion of the estate passes to the spouse.  The rest must be shared between children and other relations.

People often do not want to think about making a Will, and it is surprising how many of us die without making one.  However, making a Will is relatively easy and probably one of the most important things that you can do to ensure your wishes will be carried out after your death.  It also ensures that your family and loved ones are taken care of in the way you want.

PLEASE CONSIDER YOUR FUTURE AND CONSIDER HELPING THE MARY ANN EVANS HOSPICE CARE FOR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.

The Mary Ann Evans Hospice is organising Make Your Will Month throughout June when participating solicitors are waiving their entire Will writing charge for a non-complex Will in return for a donation to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice.  The suggested minimum donation is £75 for a basic standard single Will or £125 for a basic standard double Will. (Further charges will apply for a more complex Will.)  There is no obligation to leave a legacy to the Mary Ann Evans Hospice but many people also take the opportunity to leave a gift in their Will to the Hospice to help us fund the future of our care for local patients diagnosed with a life-limiting illness and the support we provide for them and their families.

By supporting Will Month, you will receive a good value package, which benefits the Mary Ann Evans Hospice through the generosity of local solicitors.

Susan, Hospice Volunteer said, “Having recently bought a home with my partner, it was a timely reminder to make a Will so that I can decide who will benefit from my estate after my death.  By having a Will my estate can be finalised much quicker and I can be assured my wishes are followed”.
