The Mary Ann Evans Hospice is a registered charity and relies on voluntary donations and Gifts in Wills. All of our services are free to our patients and their families but are not free to provide. Our costs are now over £1.6 million and £750,000 of this sum must be raised through voluntary contributions. This equates to over £2,500 each and every day and we could not achieve this without your help.

Gary Grant – Data Development Officer

Gary started as a volunteer at the Hospice in 2013 and joined the Fundraising Office in 2015. Gary said “Having spent time as a volunteer I soon got to know the valuable work that the Hospice does and the wonderful people that support it. Now as a member of the fundraising team I hope to contribute towards the amazing work the Hospice does for our community.”

Natalie Smith – Fundraiser, Events, Communication & Marketing

Natalie joined the Hospice in 2015 following voluntary experience of charity fundraising and roles in Higher Education. Natalie said “I’m excited to be part of a team who are helping to ensure that the hospice can continue its provision of vitally important services. The dedication of staff, volunteers and supporters is really inspiring.”

Cloey Pickles – Community Liaison and Publicity Officer

Cloey Pickles joined the Hospice in 2015. Previously she worked at the Hinckley Island Hotel as a Wedding Co-ordinator & Events Manager. Cloey said “I took part in Get Up & Run in 2014 for the Hospice and was so inspired when I came for a tour; I realised that this is somewhere I would like to work and help make a difference”

Bev Smith – Fundraiser

Bev started working for the Hospice in 2008. She is known as the ‘Cuddlies Queen’ delivering our merchandise to venues around our area. Bev said “I couldn’t do my job without the help and support of all my willing volunteers they are an integral part of the team.”

Jessica Atkinson – Fundraising Assistant

Jess is our newest member of the Fundraising Team and has just left Cardiff University having secured a 2:1 in Events Management. Jess said “Growing up in Nuneaton, I’ve always been aware of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice fundraising activities; in particular the ‘Strictly Learn to Dance’ show. I feel honoured to now be a part of this amazing team who have welcomed me with open arms and do such a lot to source much needed funds for the Hospice”.

Gemma Thompson – Fundraising Assistant

Gemma joined the Hospice in August 2016. Gemma said “Having recently returned to my home town, I am excited to work with this integral part of the community in Nuneaton. The Mary Ann Evans Hospice is a unique and incredible place and I am thrilled to be joining the team that genuinely changes and enriches people’s lives.”
