Once again, the Mary Ann Evans Hospice is working in partnership with Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, Katz Dancewear and Morton’s Vintage Hire to deliver a fabulous day for all the family in Nuneaton town centre. Everyone is invited to get involved with this spectacular event which last year saw the Town Centre come alive with classic vehicles and spectators! The Hospice, who provide care and support to patients with a life-limiting illness, are encouraging the community to come out in force once again to support this fantastic event. There will be a classic vehicle display, street food and lots of entertainment, plus an exciting car rally through the beautiful Warwickshire countryside. Sponsors of the event so far include Nuneaton Replacement Panels, Weston Hall, Toyota Nuneaton, Paynes of Hinckley and Dominos with each participant of the Static Display & Car Rally receiving a voucher for a free individual pizza.
Richard Burt, Centre Principal, Toyota Nuneaton said “Toyota Nuneaton is proud to participate for the first time in this year’s Classic Transport Festival. As a local business which values the community spirit of Nuneaton, we can think of no better cause to support than the Mary Ann Evans Hospice event. Plus, we can’t wait to show visitors our superb selection of cars.”
Beverley Buggea, Business Development Manager, Paynes said “Paynes of Hinckley who are located on the A5 in Hinckley has been a household name in this area since the early 1900’s and is still family owned to this day. We take a great deal of pride in our heritage and impact on our local area, so when we were approached by the Mary Ann Evans Hospice we couldn’t think of a more worthy cause to support.
Paynes feel privileged to give back to the community in supporting events in and around the area. We are proud to be part of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice Classic Transport Festival to help them continue providing specialised care, support and advice to patients and their families when living with a life limiting illness.”
Entertainment will be provided throughout the day from Anker Radio and Debra June and The Rockin’ Tunes with music from DJ Howling Wolf in between sets. Magic Matt Redmond will also be entertaining families with stilt walking, a magic show and balloon modelling!
Food & drink will be available to purchase at the event from The Little Camion Creperie , Carlicious Catering’s Pimms & Prosecco horsebox as well as their pulled pork stand, Weston Hall’s Sausage & Cider stand, Morton’s Vintage Hire ice cream tricycle & Sperrin Brewery.
This year two new routes have been added to the rally. Participants can choose from a 35 or 44 mile route. Cars will leave at 10:15am and 10:30am respectively and finish in Nuneaton Town Centre to join the static display. The entry fee of £15 includes refreshments at the Hospice, rally board and a commemorative plaque.
Alternatively, owners not wishing to take part in the rally can display their vehicles in the town centre for just £5 which also includes the commemorative plaque. Cars need to be parked in Nuneaton Town Centre by 11am.
