Donate in Memory

Many donations made to Mary Ann Evans Hospice are made in memory of a loved one.  Not only are they a poignant way to remember someone special and celebrate their life, but they also help to support the vital care we can offer to other families.

There are many ways you can remember a loved one and our team are here to support you:

Organise a funeral collection

When someone we love dies, supporting a charity is a meaningful way to honour them.  We are on hand to help guide you through the process.  This may include having a donation box at the funeral or wake, or perhaps creating an online tribute page allowing friends and family to donate directly to Mary Ann.

One-off or Regular Donation

You may wish to make a one-off donation or become a regular giver in memory of your loved one.  To find our more call our Fundraising Team on 024 7686 5439 or click below to make an online donation

Fundraising in memory

Taking on a personal challenge or holding a fundraising event in memory of your loved one can feel a positive way of celebrating their life.  This could be a sponsored challenge, a sporting event or something as simple as a cake sale.  Whatever you decide, we can be there to help support you along the way.

Memorial Wall

The memorial wall has been a growing centrepiece in our hospice garden since August 2022 and offers a space for families to remember their loved one by purchasing a plaque and creating a lasting memorial they can visit.

Fondly named Bill’s Wall, the memorial wall was put in place by request of a gentleman who was inspirational in the development of the Hospice.  Mr Bill Olner, who passed away in 2020, was a former MP, Mayor of Nuneaton, and the original chair of the Hospice Board.

The memorial wall is in the peaceful gardens of the hospice and plaques are available to view Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm.

Plaque Designs

We have 3 styles of plaque available, with each plaque measuring 250mm x 90 mm. Plaques A and B both feature two lines of text, with one line being larger and bolder than the other. Plaque C features three lines of text in varying sizes. All of the text can be tailored individually for each memorial, with the only restriction being a 40-character limit. Longer lines of text may reduce font size to accommodate. Please see the order form below or alternatively, give us a call on 02476 865 440.

Plaque A – Minimum Donation £50

Plaque B – Minimum Donation £50

Plaque C – Minimum Donation £75

Eternal Lights

We are proud to continue our partnership with Devall & Son to bring Eternal Lights, a special Christmas Memorial Service, to our local community.

Following the success of previous years, Eternal Lights once again brings together Devall & Son’s memorial event with our much-loved Light up a Life, creating a meaningful space for reflection, remembrance and love as we come together to celebrate the lives of those no longer with us.

Please follow our social media channels for information on forthcoming dates for this year.

Mary Ann Evans Hospice provides vital end-of-life care by offering physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to our patients, and their families.

We offer a variety of services, including Hospice at Home Rapid Response, Family Support and Bereavement and a Wellbeing Service.

Our annual expenditure budget is approximately £2.8m per annum, and we receive just 24% of funding through the NHS.

The remaining costs are supported through our voluntary income, which is why your support is so crucial to the hospice.
