Job Title: Family Support and Bereavement Services Senior Practitioner
Responsible to: Family Support and Bereavement Services Co-ordinator
Hours: 22 hours (minimum) to 28 hours worked flexibly over the week to include some late afternoon sessions.

We are seeking a qualified counsellor accredited with a diploma in level 4 counselling (minimum) accredited by the CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) who has experience in end of life and bereavement care. As a key member of the Family Support and Bereavement service you will be supporting a caseload of adults and children who require support with a bereavement or imminent death of a loved one using a person-centred approach via one to one support or group support sessions.  Working alongside the Family Support and Bereavement Co-ordinator you will assist with the assessment and therapeutic support of clients and the management of their data.

An understanding of good practice and knowledge of working and supporting volunteers is essential for the role. Experience or an interest in delivering training for staff and/or volunteers is desirable.

The post is to become part of our valued team – a flexible approach to your working hours is important to be able to offer sessions in the late afternoon for children and families accessing our service. The service is operational Monday to Friday with very occasional weekend working.
