Mayor Signs Off with an Entertaining Civic Dinner
The Civic Dinner
The Mayor and Mayoress of Nuneaton and Bedworth Councillor Rob Tromans and Councillor Mandy Tromans finished up their mayoral year with the fantastic and traditional civic dinner. Many councillors from across Nuneaton, Bedworth and Warwickshire were in attendance. Including local MP and Patron of Mary Ann, Marcus Jones.
A Rich Tradition
The Mayoral Civic Dinner is a rich tradition held in towns and councils across the country. It is usually in a gala dinner format and is used as a send off for the incumbent Mayor. It can be a chance to boost fundraising and awareness for the incumbent councillor’s chosen cause.
A Beautiful Backdrop
The lovely and picturesque Weston Hall in Bulkington was the venue for the dinner, it was a beautiful backdrop for the evening and included a splendid firework display.
Our Chief Executive, Liz Hancock and our Head of Marketing and Income Generation, Jessica Daly were in attendance to spread awareness of the work of Mary Ann.
Councillor Kris Wilson posted on Twitter; “Pleasure to be at The Mayor Cllr Rob Tromans Civic Dinner raising money for @maehospice – all funds raised are going towards helping local residents at end of life care and their families. We never know when we will need them so we need to be there for them.”
£6000 Raised
Councillor Tromans chose to champion the work of Mary Ann for his Mayor’s Appeal. Both he and Councillor Mandy Tromans have been a great presence in helping raise awareness and funds for Mary Ann. Throughout the year they have managed to raise £6,000 (year to date) for Mary Ann and we are exceptionally grateful for their efforts.
Avid Support
The Mayor has been an avid and vocal supporter of Mary Ann and our good work in the community. He has been a consistent presence throughout Nuneaton and Bedworth including in the town centre at weekends and hosting events. Including the forthcoming Swede Dreamz – Abba Tribute this coming Friday (13th May 2022).
