Richard Loukes & a team of 10 volunteers from National Grid visited the Mary Ann Evans Hospice on Tuesday 5th July as part of a community support day. The team arrived early and were set the task of repainting the Hospice’s Bereavement Centre, the Warren, giving it a brand new lick of paint to brighten it up. National Grid kindly donated a budget of £300 for equipment and materials and Richard made sure there were plenty of rollers, paint trays and of course, the all-important paint.

Gemma Thompson, Fundraiser at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, said “It was fantastic to have the team support us and volunteer their time to the hospice. They were a fun group, who listened to a great range of old rock classics while painting! While on a tour of the hospice, it was great to be able to introduce them to some of the hospice’s clinical team, who were able to tell them more about the care and support the hospice provides in the local area.”

The team said “We are extremely proud and privileged to help such a worthwhile charity within the local community. We hope our contribution makes it a more comfortable environment for those using the hospice.”

The Mary Ann Evans Hospice needs to raise over £2,500 each and every day in order to continue to provide exceptional care and support to patients and their families in Nuneaton, Bedworth, Northern Warwickshire and the surrounding villages through their Day Hospice, Hospice at Home, Lymphoedema Clinic and Bereavement services.
