On Friday 18th August, Nuneaton based Nick Forster completed a once-in-a-lifetime challenge; a Wing-Walk, in aid of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. After climbing onto the wing of the plane, Nick’s harness was fastened, he was given some safety instructions and then he was holding on for dear life while the plane took off, flew high above fields and into the clouds, before landing safely back on the ground. It must have been a terrifying experience, but Nick completed it with a brave sense of calm, even having chance to admire the view, while his family looked on.

Nick, who has raised a huge £1,211.00 for the local good cause, said the Wing-Walk was “scary, but fun” and would like to thank all of his supporters who kindly donated. A video of Nick’s Wing-Walk will be uploaded to the hospice’s YouTube channel shortly.

Natalie Perkins, Fundraiser at the Mary Ann Evans Hospice, said “Nick has previously completed a FireWalk for the hospice, so is clearly a brave guy! We want to thank him for being willing to try something totally different and for putting his courage to the test. Those of us scared of heights were terrified to even watch the video of the Wing-Walk in the office, but Nick didn’t look at all fazed and has said that as soon as he was airborne he could just relax and enjoy the view!”
