Seeds For The Future
We’re so excited to share with you the amazing news that the Mary Ann Evans Hospice is celebrating its 30th year! We’re delighted that we have been serving our community for the last thirty years, and what a thirty years it has been! We have grown so much and it’s largely thanks to the ongoing generosity of our fabulous supporters! How privileged we are to have you involved in our journey. Nobody could have predicted the last 12 months but I’m pleased to say we’re still here and intend to be so for many more years to come.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Team Mary Ann has continued to provide the very best care across Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire. We have increased our services to best support our local community and the team has remained positive throughout as we have strived to make sure that our services are not impacted. We have also had our share of laughs, as the team and patients, have learned to negotiate “Zoom” and the problems this can entail.
Your continued support throughout 2020 and into 2021 has meant the world to us and shows the value that we bring to the community. You have given us hope. With that we look forward to a time when we can welcome you back into our shops or even a fundraising event – hopefully allowing us to get together to celebrate OUR huge 30 year achievement. We are extremely proud of TEAM MARY ANN and all that we have achieved and are going to achieve in the years ahead. We will post updates across our Facebook page and Website to share our journey with you. If you have any stories that you would like to share with us please email maehenquiries@geh.nhs.uk as we’d love to hear your thoughts and especially your memories of the last 30 years.
As a way of thanking you for your support we are sending you a packet of sunshine – in the form of our Seeds for The Future – and inviting you to our Virtual Growers Club. Join our group by sharing the pictures of your sunflowers on Facebook. Together we can grow a towering sea of sunflowers and spread awareness of the great work that we do.
‘Growing’ forward we would like to move to email as this is not only a more environmentally friendly way of keeping in touch but is more cost effective, meaning more money for our clinical services. Please fill out your preferred contact methods on the back of this letter and return to us in the prepaid envelope. We will continue for now, with one annual newsletter at Christmas but look forward to more regular updates via email.
We value the support of our local community as we strive to complete our vision – that patients, families and carers in our community experience a journey towards end of life and into bereavement that is supported, comfortable, safe and is in a place of their choice. It is with your support that we are able to offer this. If you are able to donate, please see the various options overleaf.
Together we care and together we will be here for the next thirty years!
Warmest wishes
Liz Hancock, Chief Executive
