Heather Norgrove
It is with sadness that I announce the death of our dear friend and esteemed colleague, Heather Norgrove.
I first met Heather in 2004 when she chaired the North Warwickshire Palliative Care Local Implementation Team meeting. From that moment, it was clear that Heather’s dedication to healthcare and her compassionate nature would leave an indelible mark on everyone she worked with.
Heather joined Mary Ann’s Board of Trustees on 19 July 2012. At her first meeting, she shared a synopsis of her remarkable career, which spanned almost 40 years in healthcare. Her roles included General Practice, Chief Executive of a Primary Care Group, Director of Commissioning, and Commercial Director. Heather also held a Marketing degree, showcasing her diverse skill set and relentless pursuit of knowledge.
Heather’s tenure as a trustee from July 2012 to June 2024 including time as Chair from 8 September 2016 to 5 September 2019, was marked by her exceptional leadership and unwavering commitment. Her wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for Warwickshire North, palliative and end-of-life care profoundly impacted our organisation. Heather’s vision and guidance helped shape Mary Ann into the compassionate, effective charity it is today.
Beyond her professional achievements, Heather was a friend and mentor to many, including volunteering within our Family Support and Bereavement Service. Her warmth, wisdom, and tireless advocacy for those in need will be deeply missed by all of us at Mary Ann.
I would like to extend our heartfelt condolences to Heather’s family and friends during this difficult time. Her legacy will continue to inspire us as we carry forward her mission of providing compassionate care.
