Phill Allsopp, Sales & Marketing Director at the Lea Marston Hotel, endured terrible weather on the weekend of the 15th July to conquer 3 Yorkshire Peaks in aid of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice.

Phill said “It was the hardest thing I have ever done, but I feel amazing to have done it and raised money for such a great cause! It rained all day and was very windy at the top of the mountains but I completed 65,000 steps, 1800m of accent, 26 miles – all in 10 hours!”

Friends, family and colleagues from Lea Marston Hotel helped Phill to raise a wonderful £500 for his completion of the challenge, as part of the hotel’s ‘Charity of the Year’ partnership with the hospice.

The team at Lea Marston chose to support the hospice as their way of saying ‘thank you’ for taking care of one of their loved colleagues, who sadly passed away last year. They are

now looking forward to completing a 26 mile walk between Lea Marston Hotel and their sister hotel, The Abbey Hotel, Redditch, on the 18th August in support of the hospice, a quiz night on the 31st August and their big Christmas celebrations in December. Hospice Fundraiser, Natalie Smith, said “The support of local businesses and organisations is vital to ensure that we can reach our voluntary fundraising target of £2,500 each and every day. We’re so proud of Phill for completing a huge personal challenge in aid of the hospice, one that I’m sure he is now enjoying recovering from!”
