Our predominantly Volunteer led support service

Volunteers help in the Day Hospice, in the Hospice Shops, in the Fundraising Department and at fundraising events. Volunteers also transport Patients to and from the Hospice as well as driving the Hospice minibus and help in the garden and offer bereavement support.

Online Serenity sessions

Serenity sessions are designed to give you some much needed me-time. The session combines relaxation, mindfulness and breathing techniques to help you unwind and find some calm. Sessions will be ran monthly online via Zoom and last 1.5 hours.

Online Mary Ann Evans News

This is an opportunity for us to give you any updates from the hospice but also discuss some recent events in the news or any news you may have to share.

Online Quiz

Ran by Mary Ann staff and volunteers, join other Day Service patients to take part in a range of online quizzes.

Online Crafts

We are excited to announce the return of our virtual craft sessions. All equipment needed is prepared by our wonderful volunteers and delivered to your door. Our volunteers will then meet you as a group on Zoom and show you how to complete each craft. This is always a much enjoyed session.

Online Carers Support group

A chance for carers to come together in small groups to help support and learn from one another. Facilitated by a member of staff, the group will work through a structured programme looking at how to cope with the demands of being a carer and discussing some of the practical problems that you may encounter. Sessions will be ran monthly online via Zoom and last 1.5 hours.

Online Afternoon Tea

Join with other Day Service patients to enjoy a chat and afternoon tea provided by our fantastic chef Heather.

Online Carers Cafe

Carers café is an opportunity for carers to get together virtually and offer support to one another and build a peer relationship with other carers. This will be an informal session to allow for conversation about being a carer and get to know one another.
