Member of the Board of Trustees
Join the Board of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice as a new Trustee
The Mary Ann Evans Hospice is a caring organisation offering palliative care and end of life care to residents of Nuneaton, Bedworth, North Warwickshire, and surrounding areas. Our services include Wellbeing Centre, Hospice at Home, Rapid Response, Lymphoedema along with Family and Bereavement support. We are there to support people at the most difficult of times and when they need it most.
We are continually looking to strengthen our Board by appointing new trustees who can offer a minimum of 3 to 4 hours a month. Experience at a senior level in the following areas would be of particular interest:
•Ecommerce
•Nurse or clinician with a background in community healthcare
•Diversity & Inclusion
Whilst previous healthcare experience is not necessary for all our Trustee’s roles, applicants will be able to think strategically and work collaboratively with the board and executive leadership team to help shape and guide the future direction and development of the Mary Ann Evans Hospice.
We welcome applicants who represent our local diverse communities and strive to create an inclusive workforce where all can be at their best.
This is a voluntary, unpaid, position for an initial term of 3 years, renewable for up to two further 3 year terms. Reasonable out of pocket expenses can be paid e.g. travel or caring responsibilities. However, the real rewards for these roles come from helping our organisation develop and seeing the enormous difference we make to people’s lives. Other benefits include your own personal development through participation in robust corporate governance and working at a strategic non-executive level.
If you are worried about the time commitment or not sure you are quite ready for this type of role, then please speak to us about our Associate Trustee opportunities. We would recommend an informal visit or discussion, without obligation, please contact Liz Hancock (Chief Executive) on 024 76865466 or elizabeth.hancock@geh.nhs.uk to arrange.
