Ella’s Fundraising Determination
“In 2019 my Nan passed away and this hospice helped our family. She was able to stay at home when she was poorly, and my Pop was able to be with her too. As I appreciated their help so much, I decided that I would help them, other people and their families.
Since 2019, I have been working hard to raise as much money as possible. Covid has also affected all charities, so this year is just as important to them.” – Ella Tipple, Age 10.
It is thanks to the efforts of our amazing fundraisers like Ella that we can provide the services we do. Since 2019 Ella has gone above and beyond, working around Covid restrictions and school to do all that she could to fundraise for Mary Ann Evans Hospice.
Seizing every opportunity she could to raise funds, this has included a sponsored silence raising £467.50, a Christmas Fair raising £170.00, a bake sale raising £60.00 and a craft sale raising £312.00, for an amazing total of £1,009.50.
Not stopping their Ella next set her sights on a sponsored swim, “hopefully it will help add to that total and give other families the help they need.”, Ella used her holiday to Lanzarote as an opportunity to get sponsored to complete as many lengths of the pool as possible within 60 minutes.
Ella’s hard work in the pool as well over the past few years had raised a total well over £2,000 in fundraising and Gift Aid for the hospice.
As a charity the support we receive from volunteers, fundraisers and donors is essential in enabling us to continue to provide the care that our patients and their families deserve. On behalf of all of us at Mary Ann Evans Hospice we would like to thank Ella for all her hard work and determination in fundraising and promoting the hospice, as well as caring about the support we provide being available for other families.
