From Sweden to Waterloo via Nuneaton’s Co-op Club

Swede Dreamz In The Co-operative Club

The Co-operative Club in Nuneaton was overtaken by dancing queens and super troupers. Adorned with blonde wigs and belting out merry renditions of Mamma Mia as Abba tribute act Swede Dreamz stormed the stage. There was a party atmosphere for the evening as one of the final events organised by Councillor Rob Tromans, Mayor of Nuneaton and Bedworth, for Mary Ann – his chosen charity of his Mayoral year.

Big Crowd Turns Out to Support Mary Ann Raising £2660

Last Friday (13/05/2022) almost 300 hundred people came to enjoy the fabulous spectacle that was Swede Dreamz, the popular Abba tribute band. It was lovely to see so many people from Nuneaton there to support the Hospice and enjoy the band. It has been a long time coming as we slowly move towards more events at the Hospice, so we thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Mayor’s Appeal 2021 – 22

As part of the Mayoral year 2021 – 2022, Mayor and Mayoress Councillors Rob and Mandy Tromans, chose to support the Mary Ann Evans Hospice. They have worked hard to raise money and the profile of the Hospice against the backdrop of the pandemic. Towards the end of their term have managed to organise several events to raise money for the Hospice.

“It was fantastic seeing everyone singing and dancing along to Swede Dreamz, all in aid of Mary Ann. This event really brought the community together.” – Rachel, Community Engagement Officer

Championing the Work of Mary Ann

The opportunity to have our cause championed by the Mayor is a platform that is rarely offered to Mary Ann. Events like these help raise our profile across Nuneaton, Bedworth and North Warwickshire. This reminds people of all the good work that our amazing team do. It is important for people to know that in one of the darkest periods of their life, they will be cared for expertly. We are very grateful to the Mayor and Mayoress for allowing us this platform.  We are thankful that they chose to acknowledge and champion our contribution to the local community.
